DELIVERING LOCAL ROAD PRIORITIES IN DUNKLEY
The Albanese Labor Government continues to partner with Frankston City Council to deliver targeted road improvements across Dunkley, with a significant funding increase kickstarting a pipeline of new work.
Frankston City Council will receive $6,546,440 in Roads to Recovery (RTR) funding over the next five years, a $2,826,885 boost thanks to the Albanese Government.
The increased funding paves the way for new priority projects, including road and traffic management upgrades from Frankston Flinders Road to Valley Road.
The deteriorated stretch of road, will be rehabilitated with deep patching and resealing, as well as receive intersection improvement at the following sites:
a) Roundabout at Heatherhill Rd/Kalmia St.
b) Roundabout at Heatherhill Rd/Brooklyn Ave.
c) Roundabout at Heatherhill Rd/Lardner Rd.
These upgrades will ensure that this road will keep pace with the demands of a growing community, improve road safety, and provide a smooth driving experience for all types of vehicles, including heavy vehicles and buses.
This funding boost is part of the Albanese Government progressively doubling RTR from $500 million to $1 billion per year.
The Road Black Spot program is also increasing to $150 million per year, and the Government has established the $200 million Safer Local Roads and Infrastructure Program – programs that will also support local councils to improve their local road networks.
